All trainees must take an
insurance covering all the risks that may occur during the traineeship.
It is compulsory for them to take this insurance through SESAME.
Trainees under a salaried status
are declared to the French social security called Mutualité
Sociale Agricole (MSA) by the host farmer, and thus are granted health insurance and are covered for work accidents. But the host will get
a complementary insurance (compulsory) for : illnesses, civil liabilities,
and medical repatriation, the cost of which is withdrawn from the monthly salary paid by the host.
Trainees coming with a training agreement contract will have the insurance paid for by their host.
It covers all possible risks during their
traineeship : work accidents, illnesses, civil liability.
The insurance can be withdrawn from the monthly bonus by the host.
European Union candidates can
have access to the medical system in France, with the European illness insurance card, before they can benefit from their specific insurance
as a trainee.
The insurance proposed by SESAME also
covers medical repatriation and civil liability.
